MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- Russia has enough rubles to pay U.S. $117.2 million in coupons on two Eurobonds due on Wednesday, while payment in foreign currencies depends on the U.S., Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told RT Arabic.
"The possibility or impossibility to fulfill our obligations in foreign currency equivalent does not depend on us,” he said.
“We have the money, we have given a payment order, now the ball is with the U.S. authorities."
This payment is the first after a freeze of some of Russia's reserves. The Finance Ministry sent a payment order on Monday.
